Web Design in Cambridge
Modern, conversion-focused web design for Cambridge businesses — built for actual outcomes (leads, signups, sales) not just to look pretty in a Dribbble post.
Right here in Cambridge
Across Cambridge proper (CB1–CB4) — the Science Park, Trumpington, Cherry Hinton, Chesterton, and the city-centre core around Mill Road, plus the biotech and tech-startup hubs along Hills Road and the Madingley Road corridor.
The Cambridge workflow pains we keep hearing
- Site looks dated. Last design was 2019. Mobile experience is broken. New visitors don't take you seriously.
- Pretty but doesn't convert. Beautiful site, low conversions. Probably the design isn't serving the user's actual job-to-be-done.
- Brand drift. Different fonts on different pages. Colour palette inconsistent. Logo appears in three different ratios.
- Accessibility ignored. Low colour contrast, missing alt text, keyboard navigation broken. Legally and morally a problem; also losing SEO points.
The Cambridge sectors we work with most
- Biotech & life sciences. Science Park and Genome Campus tenants — research data extraction, lab pipelines, supplier integration.
- Tech-enabled scale-ups. SaaS, fintech, deeptech around the Innovation Centre — AI integrations, workflow automation, customer ops.
- Professional services. Cambridge law firms, accounting practices, consultancies — KYC automation, billing pipelines, client portals.
- University-adjacent services. Tutoring, accommodation, conference-services — booking, lead-capture, review automation.
What we typically build
Conversion-led design system
Typography, colour, components designed around the user actions you actually want to drive — not the visual style alone.
Mobile-first
60%+ of traffic is mobile. Design starts mobile, scales up. Not "designed on a 27-inch monitor, hope mobile works".
Accessible by default
WCAG AA contrast, keyboard nav, ARIA where it matters, semantic HTML. Real users with screen readers can use the site.
Brand-consistent at scale
Components and tokens so every new page automatically follows the design system. No drift over time.

Frequently asked questions
Design and build, or just design?
Either. Design-only deliverable: Figma files + design system + documentation. Design + build: shipped working site. Same price for design-only as you'd pay a freelance designer, often cheaper for design + build because we don't bill the back-and-forth.
How long does it take?
Single landing page 2–3 weeks. Standard business site design + build 4–6 weeks. Larger projects 6–10 weeks.
Do you use templates?
No template kits. We design custom, but with mainstream UI patterns users already know — buttons look like buttons, navigation behaves predictably. Distinctiveness through brand, not through interaction-pattern weirdness.
Can I see examples?
See the portfolio for live work. We can also show in-progress work and design-system documentation on request.
What about Webflow / Framer?
Both fine for some use cases. We can deliver in those, or in a hand-built Next.js / static stack — depends on whether you need a designer-editable backend or maximum performance/SEO.
Brand guidelines? Do I need them?
Helpful but not required. If you have them we follow them. If you don't, we develop the necessary tokens (colour, type, spacing) as part of the project.
