We use Mindbody / TeamUp / GymMaster / Trainerize — do we need this?

If those work, keep them. We extend them with what they don't do (retention engine, smarter save flows, cross-PT visibility). Often a thin custom layer on top of an existing platform.

How does retention monitoring actually work?

Each member has a "baseline" attendance pattern. Algorithm detects when they're deviating downward (missed expected workouts × N). Trigger fires → personalised re-engagement (not generic email blast).

Will the cancellation save flow feel pushy?

Designed to feel helpful, not pushy. Offers a pause/freeze first (their problem solved without losing membership), then alternative tier, then standard cancellation if they really want out.

How does PT-client billing work?

Stripe / GoCardless integration. Session billed automatically post-completion. Sessions packs (10-session, 20-session) tracked + auto-prompted when running low.

What about session notes / programme tracking?

Built-in per client. PT records what was done, attaches photos/video, sets next-session focus. Client sees their own history.

Multi-location gym — does this scale?

Yes — locations as a first-class concept. Member can use any location, attendance aggregated, retention monitored across locations.
